Preparing and Filing a CFPB Complaint

Organize a concise factual timeline and submit through the official CFPB portal without sending sensitive files to FairFiles Hub.

Use the official portal

FairFiles Hub does not file complaints. Submit directly through the CFPB complaint portal and review the portal's privacy instructions before attaching documents.

Prepare a factual narrative

Identify the company, product, dates, what happened, steps already taken, the response received, and the specific resolution requested. Separate facts you observed from conclusions. Do not exaggerate or claim a legal violation as established when it has not been determined.

Attach only what is necessary

Redact unnecessary Social Security numbers, full account numbers, medical details, or third-party information. Keep originals locally and submit copies. Record the complaint number and response deadline shown by the official system.
